What is literary performance?

A series of readings, archival and contemporary (though aren’t all readings recorded already archival?).

Some things to think about while we are watching and/or listening to the performance. What differentiates these performances from visual art/theatre performances? What is specifically “poetry”?

What is the relationship between the performer and the audience?

What are We sitting through when we are sitting through a poetry reading? What is happening in the space? What is the air contributing? The light?
